DIVISION
1 PREMIER and DIVISION 1 AC
|
| WELCOME TO RAGE DIVISION 1 SOCCER ... |
| |
|
Division 1 (Premier) is the
highest level of competitive soccer offered. Division 1 is for those
players whose desire, natural ability and passion for the game make
them want to develop their soccer ability to the highest level they
can attain. Teams compete in the GSSL league (U10 through U11 play
in the District 3 League) as well as USSL Super Y-League. Teams also
attend tournaments, both in, and out of state, and are expected to
be competitive in State-Cup play. At the U10 through U14 age groups
continued emphasis is on developing a “love of the game” as
well as development of skills needed to compete more successfully at
the older ages. Division 1 players are those who have been identified
as having “the right stuff” to develop into collegiate
players. This division represents the highest level of commitment by
both players and parents. Review the Program

Division 1 AC (formerly Division 2) for
those who haven’t made a premier team but have the desire and
commitment to play at a highly competitive level and have the opportunity
to train with our professional staff. The RAGE will target to have
D1 AC teams in the U10 through U15 age groups. Older age groups may
be formed depending on players interested and resources available.
Division 1 AC teams will play in the GSSL Silver bracket (U9 through
U11 play in the District 3 AC League) and players will also be eligible
to play on Super Y-League teams. Teams will attend tournaments best
suited for their individual needs and will have the option to play
in State-Cup. Review the Program

RAGE U14P BEATS MUSTANG RAMPAGE TO ADVANCE IN STATE CUP |
| |
Pleasanton Rage 1, Mustang Rampage 0 (5-4 PK)
The Pleasanton Rage U14 Premier team faced the Mustang Rampage in a Round of 16 State Cup game Saturday in very windy conditions. After an exhausting, intensely hard-fought physical battle that went scoreless through regulation and two overtimes, Rage finally prevailed 5-4 in penalty kicks to win the game 1-0 and advance to the Quarterfinal round next weekend. The Rage U14 team has now won 13 consecutive games, and by holding another opponent scoreless, has extended their streak to 570 minutes without allowing a goal. GK Phoebe Brown turned in an amazing performance, making several key saves, none bigger than blocking the 3rd PK shot. Scoring on PKs for Rage were Erin Schoendienst, Courtney Stonesifer, Megan Tabler, Gabe Stange, and Melissa Atkins. The Rage back line of Brett Scheckla, Erika Emmanuel, Sabrina Unglaub, and Stonesifer played ferocious defense to deny the Rampage scoring chances despite facing an onslaught of pressure and playing against the wind in the 2nd half and 1st overtime period. Repeated attempts by Rampage to send long balls past the Rage defense were foiled by confident heading, speedy runs, and fantastic team communication and support. Extremely strong midfield play by Bria Outland, Rachel Charkowicz, Kiley Zeitler, Alexa Espinosa, Haley Paxton, Lindsay Rigel, Schoendienst, and Atkins provided continuous defensive support, and played nice possession soccer that frustrated Rampage and kept them off-balance. Up top, forwards Stange and Tabler led effective counterattacks that created scoring opportunities and twice nearly capitalized on them during the run of play. |

The Pleasanton Rage U12 Premier Team won two games and tied the third to advance in the State Cup Soccer Tournament in Fremont on Saturday and Sunday, January 19-20.
In the first game against the Modesto Ajax, Kira Ewanich dodged Modesto’s defender and buried the ball into the bottom corner of the net for the first goal. In the second half, the score was tied, the ball bounces in the box and Tori Larsen headed it into the net for the winning goal. Great slide tackle by Brianna Nicholas. Final score 2-1. In the second game against Dublin United, Georgia Savage fired a ball about 25 yards to Ewanich for the first goal. Larsen made a perfect cross to Ewanich for the second goal. Ewanich’s hat trick came when the ball bobbled around in the box and she put it into the net for her third goal. In the second half, Melissa Muller sped past the Dublin defense and powered a shot in the bottom corner of the goal. Defenders Cambi Cukar, Haley Lukas, and Georgia Savage shut down Dublin for a score of 4-0. The last game on Sunday against the Los Gatos Wild was the most physical. Kirsten Jensen shot high about 25 yards to the top corner of the net for the goal. Strong aggressive plays by Lindsey Kail. Excellent passes by Jessica Medina, Nicole Fetsch and Evan Murphy. Amazing job by Goalies Lexi Nicholas and Brittany Gray. In the second half, Gray showed no fear as she stopped a speeding ball by Los Gatos. Final score 1-1.
